    Blogoogle this

The story that Google has added a BlogThis icon to its toolbar is making the rounds in the blogosphere, jumping to top status in most blog indexers. This was only to be expected, and, in fact, I blogged it (in english) a few days after Google bought Pyra.
What they want to achieve with this is lock-in. With a free device, you'll be able to add stories about a link found in google to your own blog, which should be in Blogger. If you have it in Radio Userland, or in this Blogalia, you're out of luck. It shouldn't be too difficult to make this "blog it" command configurable so that you could use it to blog to anything that would understand the XML-RPC protocol; but I don't know if Google will do that. If Google were a normal company, I would say they wouldn't, but they are not a normal company.
Let's see what comes out of this. Will blogging explode (again)? Will market share increase? (that's for sure) What will Winer say?
Update: Dave's opinion, and also Google.dirson. Looks like it's not been slashdotted yet.

I vote on the question or comment. I will also make comment if I feel my words contribute to the discussion and has not be completely duplicated by someone else's words. I am interested in all of the discussions, although I may not be able to post my opinions because my workplace and I have to wait until the end of the day to make my comment or provide an answer.
